TV or Projector? The Old debate with latest update!

by Vijay Chengappa in Internet of Things, projector, Smart Homes, television 0 comments 2887 0 tags: Budget, Home Theater, Television

The Age Old Question, should i go for a TV or fix an overhead projector and screen? Most people still prefer TVs as the memory they have of projectors is that of the grainy images and pull down screens. However, as of early 2020, the commonly available sizes of Large screen TVs in India are

  • 75″ QLED/OLED 4k- Which range in the 2.7 Lac to 5 Lac price range depending on the brand and offers available
  • 86″ QLED/OLED 4k- Which range in the 5.5 Lac to 9 Lac price range depending on the brand and offers available
  • There are some 105″ models available, but priced over 20 Lac.

Where purchasing a projector (4k or otherwise) really makes sense is if you want your viewing screen to be larger than 92–100 Inches; and the difference is especially pronounced once you proceed to larger sizes of screen (135, 150, 165, 180 inches). Most projectors can display a fairly good image for sizes much larger (upto 300 inches).
A good 4k projector with a screen from the big brands (Epson/Sony/BenQ/Panasonic) will work out to be much cheaper than a 86″ Television.
And a good 2k Projector and screen can be sourced for as little as the price of a 65″ TV.
